Parents pay one buyer fee per basket (5% per basket, from 50p, max £2.50; 3.5% over £75). Your school keeps 100% of every donated item and every item from your own stock.
How payouts work
Verified organisation bank account via Stripe
Payouts go to your school's verified bank account through Stripe Connect. Stripe verifies the organisation's bank details during onboarding - personal bank accounts are not accepted.
Monthly or four times a year
Monthly (first working day of each month) or four times a year (October half-term, December, Easter and end of July) – your choice. You can change your schedule in the portal at any time.
Minimum £20
Payouts are released when your balance reaches £20. Smaller amounts roll over to the next cycle. There is no maximum.
What your treasurer will need
- Your organisation's bank account details (sort code and account number) in the school or PTA's name
- A letterhead, charity registration or governing-body letter showing the organisation's name
- For PTAs without their own bank account, your school's bank details with written authorisation from the headteacher
One named committee member or staff member verifies with Stripe using their own photo ID, home address and date of birth. This is a legal requirement and is used only to confirm who manages the account.
Will this reduce the uniform parents donate to us?
No. Parents choose to donate when they list - it's never automatic. Your PTA's running total shows on your shop page to encourage donations, and your own stock and donated stock both stay 100% yours. Uniformly takes no cut of donated items or your own stock.
Safeguarding & collections
Private in-app chat
Buyers and sellers message through the app - email addresses and phone numbers are never shared. For posted orders, only the buyer's name and delivery address are shared with the seller. Pre-purchase questions stay secure and on-platform.
A safe public place you both agree on
For collection orders, buyers and sellers agree a time and a safe public place in the in-app chat. Some schools offer reception collection - switch it on in your portal to show it as a suggestion on your items.
Buyer confirms before the seller is paid
The seller isn't paid until the buyer confirms collection or receipt on their order page. This protects both sides.
Never pay outside Uniformly
All payments go through Stripe's secure checkout. Never arrange to pay a seller outside Uniformly - you won't be protected.
Grown out of long before it's worn out
As a mum of two, I kept finding the same thing: school uniform is outgrown long before it's worn out. Good jumpers, blazers and PE kits were sitting in drawers or ending up in the bin, while other families were paying full price for the same items. I created Uniformly to cut that waste and give parents, schools and clubs an easier way to pass on preloved uniform and kit. It keeps good clothing in use and saves families money.
